Important Notice

The English Bible renders the name of the Messiah as "Jesus Christ". This is a poor (incorrect) transliteration of "Yahshua the Messiah". The Scripture Links used on this blog are streamed directly from the English Standard Version (ESV) which may contain the erroneous "Jesus" instead of his actual name. This is not to be confused. Yahshua is the ONLY name of the Messiah -the only begotten Son of Yahweh.

The Truth Concerning The Azazel - (Correcting The Azazel Dogma)

The mystery behind the azazel has become a longstanding issue in Christendom. Churches and apologists alike are contending in what seems to be a never ending debate on this matter. The issue of the azazel is said to be one of great mysteries; whereby only those who a spiritually matured enough can understand. Indeed the issue of the azazel is more than what meets the eye. That fact is undeniably true, but with the help of Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit), I can emphatically state that the azazel typology is not as complicated as it is being portrayed. In fact, the mystery can be solved using one verse!

In a previous publication it was stated that the azazel may have actually been a representation of the devil who will be punished for unleashing sin into  the world. This was the belief held by many churches and apologists (myself included) for quite some time. As time progressed, Yahweh fulfilled the promise made in John 16:13 and revealed His truth to us, showing that: (1) the typology is not as complicated as we once thought, and (2) the azazel is a representation of Yahshua the Messiah, and NOT the devil! This may come across as confusing to some, but really it is not!

The azazel was seen as a representation of the devil simply because it (the azazel) represented the finality of sin. The azazel, in the book of Leviticus, was destroyed along with the sins of Israel at the end of the atonement. This nature and character seem to fit perfectly in line with the deceiver as he will be destroyed in the end along with sin and death. It cannot be entirely correct however, to wrap this single statement into an entire scripture and build a doctrine out of it. Final destruction is not at all unique to the devil. The beast and the false prophets will be destroyed in the end as well (Rev.20:10). Human beings who reject the truth will also be destroyed (Re.20:15), even the heavens and this earth will be in the final destruction (Rev.21:1). In light of these facts one cannot say the devil is the fulfillment of the azazel simply because he was destroyed in the end. If one were to accept such a belief, then such a person would also have to accept that the beast, false prophets, sinners and the mass of creation are also fulfillments of the azazel. Each of these were destroyed in the end along with the devil. The mystery of the azazel can be solved using this one verse: Leviticus 16:5 - this shows that BOTH goats were selected for a sin offering, hence BOTH goats were the atoning sacrifice. Yahshua was our ONLY atoning sacrifice, hence both goats had to represent Yahshua. The azazel therefore, is in fact Yahshua our Messiah!

Matching the Typology

One of the hardest things to grasp in understanding this typology is that both goats were a representation of the same person. The rejection of this belief is aided by the fact that the goats had contrasting characteristics - namely: one lived and one died, and one was seen as "for Yahweh" whilst the other was apparently something else. Let us observe these contrasts and see if they really imply a difference in persona. In Leviticus 16:15 it is seen where Aaron sacrificed the first goat. Then in Leviticus 16:21 it is seen where he laid hands on the head of the second goat and confessed the sins of Israel. Admittedly there is an obvious difference in how the goats were utilized - one lived and the other was sacrificed. Observe however, the functions of the goats: One paid the penalty of the sins, whereas the other took the sins away. The functions do not conflict with each other, but rather, the functions compliment each other. The anti-type therefore (the fulfillment) cannot be conflicting, but MUST be complimenting. The devil in no way, shape or form compliments the Messiah, hence the devil can never be the fulfillment of the azazel. The devil is in direct conflict with the Messiah at all times. In fact, this was the first prophesy ever recorded in the Scripture (Gen.3:15). The conflict between the devil and the Messiah has always been inevitable! All the functions of the devil operates contrary to the Messiah. Satan seeks to unto or thwart what Yahshua has done or ought to do. It is for this very reason he could never be the azazel. The function of the azazel compliments the Messiah, this is the exact opposite of everything the devil has ever done. To say that the devil is the fulfillment of the azazel, is  no different from saying that the devil has joined forces with the Messiah, as the function if the azazel is the completion of the work of the Messiah. As far as scriptures show, the Messiah acted alone - hence he alone fulfills the functions of the goats.

Leviticus 16:8 seem to draw a contrast between the goats when it stated that one goat was "for Yahweh" whereas the other was for the azazel. Despite popular beliefs, this verse does not convey a difference in nature, but rather, simply a difference in function. One goat was to be sacrificed unto Yahweh, whereas the other was to be led out into the wilderness. Leviticus 16:10 shows that the azazel was also presented before Yahweh, hence both goats were really for His purpose. The fact that Yahweh was the one who made the initial decision in Leviticus 16:8, shows undoubtably that both goats were for His divine purpose.

Should one place the scriptures under scrutiny, it would be realized that there is no real difference between the functions of the goats. The act of paying the penalty for sins and the act of removing sins, is one of the same. In other words, it is really just one action! The only reason two goats were  used, was simply because one goat could not have demonstrated both functions. A similar act to this is the cleansing of leprosy. The leper is required to take two living birds to the priest (Lev.14:4). Of those two birds, one is to be killed (Lev.14:5), whereas the other is to be kept alive and dipped in the blood of the sacrificed bird (Lev.14:6); then set free out into the fields (Lev.14:7). As it is that two birds were required to fulfill this single act of cleansing leprosy, so is it that two goats were required to fulfill the single act of atonement. Yahshua  fulfilled our atonement (1 John 2:2) - he and he alone - hence both goats were representations of Yahshua the Messiah - no one else!

The idea of the azazel representing Yahshua and not the devil is really not as complicated it some may cause it to appear. Yahshua IS our atonement - that is an established fact. Being our atonement, everything that happens on the day of atonement should point back to Yahshua. The bull that was sacrificed was a type to Yahshua (Rom.3:25). Aaron as High Priest was a type to Yahshua (Heb.4:14). The blood that was sprinkled was a type to Yahshua (Eph.2:13). The goat that was sacrificed was a type to Yahshua (1 John 2:2). It would only make perfect sense if the azazel goat was also a type to Yahshua (John 1:29). Evidently the devil has no part to play in any of this!

The Sins of the World

It can be arguably stated that Yahshua did not literally bear the actual sins of the world, but rather, he bore the penalty of sins. Such a statement can be supported by the fact that sin still exist in the world today, contrary to what [symbolically] happened in Israel on Yom Kippur. Isaiah 53:4-5 supports this claim. Yahshua did in fact bear the penalty of our sins, but that does not annul the fact that he also bore our actual sins. 2 Corinthians 5:21 shows undoubtably that Yahshua did not only bear the penalty for our sins, but bore the actual sins as well. The difference between Israel then and the world now, is that Israel accepted the atoning sacrifice! The world today has not done that, hence sin is still in the world. For those who have accepted the atoning work of Yahshua, their sins have already been taken away - not by the devil, but by Yahshua the Messiah, hence Yahshua is in fact the fulfillment of the azazel. The remaining sin in the world is not in wait to be pronounced on the devil, but rather it is in wait for the guilty (man) to accept what Yahshua has already done and be deemed guiltless by having their sins taken away by the Messiah (1Jn.1:9).

Yahweh has never been in the business of casting blame or repaying evil for evil. On that note it would be anti-biblical to say that Yahweh will place the sins of the world on the devil. The devil has his own sins to account for. As seen in Genesis 3:14 the devil will in fact be punished for unleashing sin into the world. That was his sin, and he will have to face his penalty. Note that the devil's punishment did not nullify the woman's punishment in Genesis 3:16. This shows that the devil will NOT be punished for our sins. The devil therefore is guilty for offering sin, but man is also guilty for accepting it. Both parties are guilty, so what justice would there be in removing sin from one guilty party and placing it on the next? Both man and the devil had sins to account for, so none could have helped the other. For this reason a third party came into play. This "third party" is Yahshua the Messiah. He had no sins to account for, and decided to account for man's sin. He took our sins and carried them to the grave. When Yahshua was resurrected from the dead, sin was not resurrected with him, as he was a "new creation". We symbolically demonstrate this in baptism as we die as sinners with him in a "watery grave", and then raise with him as new creatures, pure and sinless before Yahweh (2Cor.5:17, Rom.6:4). The Messiah therefore, in every sense, fulfills the function of the azazel. He is the true anti-type, and Yahweh would have it no other way.

Three Fundamental Beliefs of Christianity That Do Not Make Sense

Should a survey be done among teens in secondary institutions, it would be realized that Mathematics is probably the least favorite subject among the majority. This preference is not limited to the secondary level at all. In fact, it expands into society even beyond the education system. Many people have a genuine resentment for Mathematics -some without even knowing. This is not because of anything that was taught in school, but because of frustration. Numbers and equations in Mathematics are suppose to "add up"; when one is unable to make these numbers "add up", then it will naturally lead to frustration. So it is with Christianity and the rapid increase in atheism. Christianity, being the most dominant religion in the world, teaches things about "God" that really does not "add up". The illogicality of these dogmas has driven many to frustration, causing them to perceive the Creator as nothing but a figment of man's imagination. Here are the three fundamental beliefs of Christianity that [surprisingly] does not make sense!

# 03 - The Holy Book

According to public statements; the Bible is the "Holy Book" of Christianity. This book [as it is stated] is the divine word of the Supreme Being that teaches Christians how to live and worship. Christians all over the world embrace this book and publicly proclaim it to be the ONLY source of their doctrines and righteous instructions. It becomes ironic however, and even confusing to some, when it is discovered that many of what Christians teach and practice today have no connection to the Bible whatsoever. The Bible states clearly, for example, that the Sabbath is the day of worship (Lev.23:3). Christians however, without any biblical support, have decided to worship on a Sunday instead. There are approximately 32,000 verses in the Bible, and none of these verses so much as implied that the Sabbath was changed to Sunday. Why, then, is the Bible be seen as the book of righteous instruction for Christians, if Christian practices were not instructed by the Bible? The religious  celebrations of Christianity comprises of: Easter, Lent, Palm Sunday, Mass, Eucharist, Communion, Christmas and a few others - none* of which were mentioned anywhere in the Bible. The Bible speaks about Passover (Lev.23:5),  Unleavened Bread (Lev.23:6), First Fruit (Lev.23:10), Pentecost (Lev.23:15-16), Trumpets (Lev.23:24), Atonement (Lev.23:27), Tabernacles and Last Great Day (Lev.23:39). These are the religious celebrations which were stipulated by the Bible, but many Christians today have chosen to ignore these celebrations, claiming that they are obsolete and irrelevant. It is still puzzling that the Bible be seen as the "Holy Book" of Christianity, and Christians do not follow the instructions in it. Since the instructions of this book have been rendered as obsolete and irrelevant, why are they called "righteous instructions"? A list of the Ten Commandments is displayed in many churches across the world, yet these same churches teach that these same commandments are no longer relevant. Why then are they being displayed? This simply does not "add up"!

Some of the very doctrines of Christianity are not in the Bible. Christianity teaches that the ultimate reward for Christians is to spend eternity in Heaven. The Bible however, states that the Earth is man's inheritance (Mat.5:5). In fact, the Bible shows that the saints will be given a Kingdom on Earth where they will be rulers (Dan.7:27, Rev.5:10). Christianity teaches about frolicking in Heaven for all eternity, and feasting on milk and honey. This is no more realistic than Santa climbing down the chimney every year, or Jack climbing the beanstalk. The Bible states that ALL Scriptures are relevant for teaching and doctrine (2Tim.3:16). Christianity teaches that only SOME of the Scriptures are relevant for teaching and doctrine. They say the Messiah came and abolished the law, but the Messiah himself publicly denied ever doing such a thing (Mat.5:17). The doctrines taught by Christianity are NOT in the Bible, and the doctrines in the Bible are NOT taught by Christianity. The instructions in the Bible are NOT followed by Christians, and the instructions Christians follow are NOT in the Bible. How then can the Bible be seen as the "Holy Book" of Christianity? What true relation is there between Christians and the Bible? This simply does not "add up"!

# 02 - The Messiah was "God" The Son

The Messiah who is often inappropriately referred to as "Jesus Christ" is said to be "God the Son" who was here on earth. In other words, "God" walked  this earth in a human body two thousand years ago. To the Christian mind this is a gospel. It is a wonderful news as their "God" came down to them; but to the logical thinker this would be a devastating tragedy! Christians say that they serve the Creator of all things. They profess that the God that they serve is the God that holds everything in balance. This would therefore imply that the world was probably out of balance for the nine month period that the Messiah was in the womb of his mother. Not to mention the fact that the world would have been without a god for the three days that the Messiah was in the tomb. The only alternative to this rationality is if the Messiah did not actually die, but was alive somewhere else. If this was the case, then man is not really redeemed, as the Scripture stated that it is through the death of the Messiah that man is redeemed (Rom.5:10). So which is it? Was the Messiah "God" or not? Did he die or not? This simply does not "add up"!

The Bible stated explicitly that the Messiah was a man (1Cor.15:21). The Messiah had a relationship with "God", he communicated with "God" regularly and even pleaded with Him (Luke 22:42). Is this to say that He prayed to and pleaded with himself? "God" is immortal (1Tim.1:17), yet the Messiah died (Luke 23:46). "God" cannot be tempted by evil (James 1:13), yet the Messiah was tempted by the devil himself in all ways  (Heb.4:15). "God" knows everything (1 John 3:20), but the Messiah had to be taught (Luke 2:52). The Messiah was a man in every sense, and the Bible shows that clearly. Nowhere in the Scriptures has the Messiah ever established himself as "God", yet Christians today say that he is. Where did this idea come from? The Messiah's humility is marked by the fact that he continuously denied himself and established his Heavenly Father. How could this possibly make sense if they are the name person? Again, the Messiah established and reiterated the fact that he does nothing of himself, but of the one who sent him (John 5:30). If he was truly "God", then this would have either been a deception or a severe case of cognitive dissonance! Christians claim that they walk in the footsteps of the Messiah. How can man walk in the footsteps of "God"? This simply does not "add up"!

# 01 - The Trinity

The doctrine of the Trinity is the most central and core belief of all the fundamental beliefs of Christianity. In fact, one cannot truly be called a Christian without embracing the Holy Trinity. Rejecting the doctrine of the Holy Trinity opens the possibility of being labelled as a cult (as the Jehovah Witnesses were so labelled). Even the major protestant churches embrace the Holy Trinity. This is quite alarming when one discovers that the Trinity is not at all supported by the Bible*. The core doctrine of the Bible is often referred to as the Shema, which teaches that "God" is ONE - not three, but ONE! This was what the Messiah said in Mark 12:29 when he was asked which commandment is the greatest. Not only was this command established as the greatest, but it was also established as the first! The singularity of "God" is the principal foundation on which all the laws were built. How then did "God" become trinity? The scribe responded to the Messiah in Mark 12:32 acknowledging that "God" truly is ONE and that there is none besides Him. The Messiah, hearing such a profound statement from the scribe, told him that he was not far from the Kingdom (Mark 12:34). Somehow it is the opposite that is now being taught. Instead of acknowledging a single "God" as seen in the scriptures, Christians are now called to acknowledge a triune "God" to be saved. This, they admit, is not in the Bible, but Christians ought to accept it by faith. This simply does not "add up"?

Quite frankly it is somewhat insulting to say that "God" is a trinity. The doctrine of the trinity teaches that "God" is one Person with three distinct personas. This is just a nice way of saying that "God" suffers from multi-personality disorder! "God" himself stated that there is no other god beside Him (Isa.45:5), but Christians are saying that there are two other gods beside Him. The singularity of "God" is reiterated countless times in scriptures: Deuteronomy 4:35, Deuteronomy 32:39, Psalms 18:31, Isaiah 44:6, 8, Isaiah 45:6. The Jews recite the Shema (Deuteronomy 6:4) every morning as a prayer. The Bible is clear on the fact that "God" is ONE. This is basic knowledge for every Jew. Somehow it was probably decided that a single "God" was too simple to understand, hence it was complicated in a way that really makes no sense at all. How can "God" possibly be three persons who are different persons, but are the same person??? This DEFINITELY does not "add up"!

The word of Yahweh is truth. David declared this in Psalm 119:160. Christianity today have twisted this truth, making it seem less realistic, and have caused so many to turn away. Yahshua the Messiah testified to this in Mark 7:13. The Bible is not a mystical book of fancy stories aimed at providing a psychological soother for those in distress. It is a historically accurate book of normal human beings and events. The Messiah, Yahshua Ben Yosef, was in fact a human being. Even the supernatural happenings recorded in the Bible are now being proven by scientific evidences day by day. In fact, the Bible is the ONLY book that has remained consistent in its teachings throughout the ages, without a single flaw or heresy. The Bible is even more credible than science itself! It was once believed that the earth was flat, but the Bible has always professed a circular earth (Isaiah 40:22). It was also believed (and was strongly supported by science) that there were only 1100 stars. The Bible professed that the number of stars are innumerable (Jer.33:22). Scientific discoveries have revealed that the universe is made up of three main elements: time, space and matter; and that everything is held together by light. The Bible taught that long ago in Genesis 1:1,3. "In the beginning [TIME] ... created the heavens [SPACE] and the earth [MATTER]. Then Yahweh created light to hold it all together. Miracles were thought of as being impossible because they operated outside of the natural laws. Quantum physics operates outside of natural laws! These are only a few evidences that prove that the Bible is in fact credible and beyond humanity (hence it is of supernatural influence).

Yahweh has given us a touch of His wisdom. His holy book is ahead of its time. One can choose to accept the flawed doctrines of Christianity, or embrace the infallible truth of Yahweh from His divine word.
